Pouring My Heart Out

This is new to me, I have never participated in one of these but it sounds almost therapeutic. Don't you think?

There are a million topics right now that I could pour my heart out about, but I will try to keep from writing a freaking novel.

My biggest issue in life at the moment is that I absolutely hate where I am living right now.  It will be 2 yrs in December that we moved to this dinky little town in the middle of Montana. My husband transfered with Albertsons and got into a manager position, it was a good move for his career and we both wanted to try life away from where we had grown up.

Days before we were supposed to officially be in Montana, I had a surprise positive pregnancy test, we moved without telling anyone because we just wanted to get settled first.

Upon first impressions, it's a cute town with a lively Main St. and has the overall appearance to be a great place to raise your kids.  Although I missed my friends and family back home, I agreed to give it 1 yr before making any irrational decisions.  That 1 yr has come and gone, and I am more than ready to be closer to home.

I have made no solid friendships here, I have not met any mothers with children the same age as my daughter whom I can have play dates with, and we have no support system here.  It is not feasible for me to go back to school here because of the cost of child care and travel involved with the school located here.

We don't want to move back home, but definantly closer, like 2 hours away closer instead of 12.  The town where we want to move has a great college, and a descent job market, along with the perks of small town living. (I am so not a city person)

All of this would be much more doable if we weren't having to put $3,000 into our cars at the moment. Hell, for that amount I could probably buy a better working car, which is pretty bad considering that our cars aren't bad, old, or misused vehicles. We are just having some rough patches, and I know that in a few months everything will (hopefully) start falling back into place.

Aren't you excited??

In case you were wondering what a vino scooter is, this is our current means of transportation. My car needs a new engine, we have the means to pay for that- just need to find one, and my hubbys car needs a new fuel pump.  Long story short in the sticky note novel. :)

This song totally sums my mood up for the day.  They are a fabulous band called Mumford and Sons!

I hope you enjoyed the song :)

Halloween Candy Corn Wreath Tutorial

Let me first apologize for not being very diligent about taking pictures for every step of the process.  I just sorta get into this craft mode, and forget that, "duh, it's going on my blog. I should probably take pics."

Now imagine this wreath with ugly wooden hearts hanging from it with some "Home Sweet Home" crap on it and lots of raffia attached to it. Then you will know what it looked like when I picked it up from the thrift store for $1.00

I also purchased some orange spray paint ( I seriously heart spray paint) and some candy corns.

I spray painted it really good on both sides, I just love the glossy look of spray paint!

Then I took my glue gun (does anyone else have a relationship with their glue gun?) and sporadically glued candy corns onto the wreath and added some sweet Halloween fabric to the top to hang it with....

Like this...

Anyhow, that's it!  Pretty simple, and cheap to boot.

Pink Sparkly Boots, and Super Delicious Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies

IMG00335-20101002-1455

I am seriously dying over how stinkin' cute these cowgirl boots are.  I am for sure getting them for my little cowgirl this winter, just hopefully not at 35$ a pop, I will have to look on Ebay, but they are of excellent quality.

Now, I have a question to ask.  Do any of you NOT have T.V.?  Because, we don't (yet) and I like it this way.  We seem to spend much more quality time together as a family since not having TV in our new place, (think Yahtzee, Scrabble, and Jenga) I am enjoying it, but today I realized that I may have to go back  to having TV, you see, I have a dilemma.  Since we don't have T.V., my husband decided that instead of spending all day together as a family like he promised today would be, he felt the need to go to his (usually drunk) friends house to catch part of a game- 1 1/2 hours part of a game, so I think I need to order some T.V.

Quite a dilemma, huh?!?!

Anyways, as I sit here stewing about my dilemma, I am eating my emotions in these delicious Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies, I even added cranberries to one batch of them.  YUM!!!

I got the super easy recipe from My Baking Addiction, it is rediculously easy, I even had all the ingredients on hand, which if you know me at all, never happens when I am trying to bake something.

They are my most favorite cookie in the whole world, but super expensive at the store for just 6 of them!

I hope you will try this recipe...

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies
adapted from allrecipes
yields 16 large cookies

Ingredients
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon milk
1 tablespoon vanilla paste (extract will work just fine)
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Method
1. Combine pumpkin, sugar, vegetable oil, and egg. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt.
2. Dissolve the baking soda with the milk and stir in. Add flour mixture to pumpkin mixture and mix well.
3. Add vanilla and chocolate chips.
4. Drop by spoonful on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for approximately 10 minutes or until lightly brown and firm.

I will be posting a tutorial on this wreath for Halloween sometime tonight or tomorrow.

I just need to add a few more spooky elements, and then I will post it,

but right now I am going fishing with my family.

Have a great Sunday everyone
